Ruby Bridges not only changed the educational system, but she continues to connect with children around the country through her writing. Bridges was the first Black child to desegregate the all-white William Frantz Elementary School in Louisiana in 1960. She has published five books sharing her story. “I wanted to meet them right there,” she says about 6-year-old kids who might be experiencing racism the way she did at that age.
