🇬🇧 Pickering is all dressed up for the 1940s! 🇬🇧 If you love a bit of nostalgia, you have to visit Pickering 1940s Weekend running from 10th–12th October! The whole town transforms — there’s live music, vintage outfits, military vehicles, re-enactments and so much atmosphere. Yesterday was an exciting day at both ends of the railway. Not only did we have the arrivals of “Flying Scotsman” at Grosmont, we also had the first training sessions for our crews on Locomotion No. 1 at Pickering. We are very lucky to have 200 years of railway history connected by 18 miles of track this autumn.
