A short drive along the A93 road from Braemar towards Ballater, as it passes Braemar Castle and between Invercauld and Balmoral Estates, following the river Dee. The A93 "Snow Road" is a famous scenic route through the Cairngorms National Park, part of the longer SnowRoads journey around Scotland. This was recorded in early January after New Year snowfall covered the area and freezing overnight temperatures caused the snow to freeze onto trees and vegetation, giving it a winter wonderland look.

A view of historic Braemar Castle in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, this week, as New Year winter weather brought freezing temperatures and heavy snow to the North East of Scotland. Braemar Castle is unique in Scotland as the first and only community-run castle, saved and managed by local volunteers and a charity since 2007. It is a great example of "living history" where visitors directly support its conservation and events, supported by the local community. #braemarcastle #castlesofscotland #WinterW
