The battle to protect property at Bawley Point is underway as huge flames threaten the town. "Rural Fire Service crews doing a hell of a job to save this property as flames engulf the bush behind it," ABC reporter Ainslie Drewitt Smith says. The Currowan fire is also close to other south coast towns including Kioloa, Pretty Beach, Pebbly Beach, Depot Beach, Durras North, Termeil and Flat Rock.
