Growing up in the Amish, I was only allowed to wear SOME of the fabrics in the Amish fabric stores. The girls in Rumspringa were usually allowed to have some more fabrics and colors than when they were a member of the church. Sometimes, lavender is very looked down upon to wear at Amish church, and some people were not allowed to wear purple at all.
