Welcome to the Morgan - The Morgan Library & Museum
The Morgan Library & Museum is open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10:30 am to 5 pm, and Friday from 10:30 am to 8 pm. The Morgan closes at 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve and 5 pm on New Year's Eve. Closed Mondays, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. Admission.
Belle da Costa Greene, the Morgan’s First Librarian and Director
Belle da Costa Greene (1879–1950) was one of the most prominent librarians in American history. She ran the Morgan Library for forty-three years—nineteen as the private librarian of J. Pierpont Morgan and later his son, Jack, and twenty-four as the inaugural director of the Pierpont Morgan Library (now the Morgan Library & Museum).
