Soft classics are often cast to blend, seem timeless, classy, frumpy, obedient, longing but overlooked, or a loyal romantic counter point to the main guy but not front and central in the story the way Rachel McAdams characters and lots of characters played by other Soft Natural have.

Apr 7, 2020 · Great chemistry between the cast, particularly Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams. Jesse Plemons in particular was a comedic standout. The cinematography was pretty cool, with several shots making the landscape appear to be a game board and the tracking shot during the hot potato with the egg.

Same with McAdams. The recasting issue is probably not specific to any actress, the Racheal character was pretty forgettable. I think if I went back and watched Batman Begins again Holmes might have had the same problem of not really being connected to the movie.
