Ward, a fifth-year senior, turned heads and ascended to the top of the draft board following his historic lone season with the Hurricanes.

Some names are a little more common than others. The name Cam Ward, for instance, has at least a pair of professional athletes who have had that for their name. One of the proverbial Cam Wards was just selected first overall in the NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans.

To the surprise of no one, the Titans took the 22-year-old University of Miami quarterback with the first overall pick of the NFL draft, making Ward only the fifth player from a state college to be selected No. 1 overall.
