Much of the country is forecast to see warmer-than-average temperatures and drought conditions this spring, according to NOAA.

The NOAA released its three-month weather outlook this week, analyzing the temperature and precipitation predictions for March through May. La Niña, the climate pattern in the Pacific Ocean responsible for cooler-than-average temperatures,

Above-normal temperatures are expected throughout Texas, with the highest likelihood of warm weather across the southern half of the state.

But millions of Americans are about to finally thaw out, according to NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center’s Spring Outlook 2025. The outlook paints the weather picture with a broad brush, but it does offer valuable insight into what parts of the country will see above, below, or average temperatures and precipitation for March, April and May.

We are coming up on a part of the year where the potential for severe weather increases. So, what long-term trends are we seeing?
