Jeff Bezos' mother Jackie Bezos died Aug. 14 at age 78 following a battle with dementia, weeks after the Amazon founder and his wife Lauren Sánchez Bezos got married in Venice, Italy.

“A quiet final chapter to a life that taught all of us, friends and family alike, the true meaning of grit and determination, kindness, and service to others,” the organization wrote.
