The earthquake struck at 12:11 p.m. Tuesday with an epicenter near Hillsdale, N.J., roughly 20 miles from Manhattan. At 7.7 miles deep, the quake is considered shallow, according to the USGS.

There were no initial reports of damage or injuries from the quake, which was felt in the surrounding tri-state area. The tremor came after a 3.0 magnitude earthquake shook the area Saturday night.
