A Forecast First Alert continues for Monday evening. Severe storms are possible, and they could have big hail, strong winds, and a few tornadoes.Severe weather remains a concern this evening across Minnesota.
We are giving you the FIRST ALERT to more shower and storm chances as we head throughout the first part of the work week.
Hail and wind are the main storm threats with an evening to late night round of storms Tuesday into Wednesday AM. This brings a couple days of heat relief but by Friday highs are back to the 90s and this will kick off a 3 day stretch of Alert Days for intense heat with heat index values of 100-115 degrees.
Slightly drier weather will arrive starting Wednesday into the second half of the week. High pressure may build in enough to turn ran coverage more isolated. Storm chances won’t be zero however, so still keep a close watch on the sky outside.
Be weather aware today. Strong to severe thunderstorms could impact much of central and southern Minnesota and northern Iowa later this afternoon and this evening.
