Widespread, steady system snow that developed Saturday afternoon will start to taper off from west to east across Northeast Ohio Saturday evening.
If it feels like snow has been on the ground earlier than usual in Northeast Ohio this December, you’re not imagining it. Cleveland hasn’t seen bare ground since Thanksgiving, with snow remaining on the ground through every day of December so far — an early-season stretch that has happened only a handful of times in the city’s recorded history.
Just two days into meteorological winter, several winter storms and lake-effect events have already brought significant snow to The Land. How much snow? Nearly 10 inches as of Dec. 2.
Lake effect snow bands continue Sunday through Monday morning. Totals will range 3 to 6″ across the primary snowbelt. Parts of the secondary snowbelt, Lorain and southern Medina, Summit, and Portage Co.
Cleveland expects minor snowfall and cold temperatures with travel impacts and lake-enhanced snow showers today.

CLEVELAND — It's called a flash freeze. Everything was wet yesterday afternoon... as temps crashed into the 20s overnight, anything that was still wet, froze. Anything untreated this morning is a sheet of ice. Porches, driveways, sidewalks, and parking lots are slick. Walk easily and don't forget to allow time to scrape the ice off your car.
