Trump’s baseless ‘manipulated’ data claim in firing BLS chief Erika McEntarfer follows long history
William Beach, who was Trump’s first-term Bureau of Labor Statistics commissioner, called the firing "baseless" and "damaging" in a letter co-signed by Erica Groshen, who preceded Beach and was nominated by Barack Obama.
Former BLS Commissioner Erika McEntarfer, who was fired after a weak July jobs report, did not directly address Trump's allegations, but thanked her colleagues for their service.
