Liverpool and Everton shared the spoils after James Tarkowski's 98th-minute equaliser snagged a 2-2 draw for the Toffees, but many were more concerned with referee Michael Oliver's contribution. The last derby of its kind to be held at Goodison Park didn't pass without incident as both Curtis Jones and Abdoulaye Doucoure were sent off after the final whistle had blown.

Keith Hackett, who was previously the head of the PGMOL, had his say on the decision on X, and he feels Oliver made a mistake. He tweeted: “This was an incorrect award of a free-kick that then went into to result in Everton scoring their opening goal.”
