Recap: Michigan basketball dominates Villanova, 89-61
The top-ranked Michigan Wolverines defeated the Villanova Wildcats in a dominant 89-61 victory. Michigan established a commanding 30-point lead by halftime, with the score at 53-23. The Wolverines' defense forced numerous turnovers and held Villanova to 32% shooting in the first half.
Pat McQuaide threw a fourth-quarter touchdown pass to Braden Reed for Villanova’s first lead and the Wildcats narrowly escaped with a 26-21 win over Tarleton State in an FCS quarterfinal on Saturday.
Co-leading the Wildcats in scoring was Bryce Lindsay, who made 8/18 shots overall and 4/11 from deep. The combination of Brennan, Lindsay and Acaden Lewis (11 points and 7 assists) scored 59 of Villanova’s 79 points. Lewis was also surgical in orchestrating the offense.
