The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD) has identified the three detectives who were killed in an explosion at a training facility on July 18 as Joshua Kelley-Eklund, Victor Lemus and William Osborn.

Former Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva has registered a campaign committee for the November 2026 election to win back his previous post.
