Two employees of a local deli are facing criminal charges after police say they fabricated a robbery report using artificial intelligence that prompted a full police response Monday morning.

Police have arrested a man in connection with a fatal hit-and-runn crash involving a pedestrian in Bethel in September. Andrew Hitchcock, 65, faces one count of evading responsibility in a fatal crash following his arrest on Dec. 6, the Bethel Police Department said in a statement late Monday.
