Avalanche star Cale Makar earned his fifth consecutive Norris Trophy nomination on Tuesday. Quinn Hughes and Zach Werenski are also finalists

Makar has been named a finalist for the Norris Trophy for the fifth time in his career. The other defensemen in NHL history who have been a finalist five times in their first six seasons are Bobby Orr, Brad Park and Dennis Potvin.

Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes has a chance to become a repeat Norris Trophy recipient. On Tuesday, the NHL named Hughes, Cale Makar of the Colorado Avalanche and Zach Werenski of the Columbus Blue Jackets as finalists for the award.
