The on-field workouts at the NFL Scouting Combine began Thursday in Indianapolis and run through Sunday. However, San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch has already returned to the Bay Area, departing on Friday after wrapping up the team's interviews with prospects.

The drills are underway at the NFL Scouting Combine with the edges leading day one as Shemar Stewart of Texas A&M and James Pearce Jr. of Tennessee may have moved into the top ten of the draft with their performances.

John Lynch made it clear he hopes the team can work out a long-term deal with Brock Purdy, who's entering the last year of his rookie contract.
