The last contested special election in 2007 saw Vincent Ignizio defeat Manny Inamorato after nearly 5,700 votes were counted.
The city Education Department suspended voting Friday to address “technical issues” with voting for the parent councils. Several parents reported glitches and mistakes in the online voting system.
