Massive crowds gathered in Cal Anderson Park, aboard a state ferry and at the state Capitol to denounce the hard-line policies of President Donald Trump.

Protests against the Trump administration Saturday were predominantly peaceful, including in Los Angeles which has seen over a week of demonstrations against President Trump’s agenda.

“Despite the threat of rain, over 250,000 patriots showed up to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army,” White House communications director Steven Cheung wrote on X.

Organizers had urged participants to stay peaceful, arguing that violence or destruction would play into President Trump’s hand.

On Monday, the ACLU declared that over five million people had assembled across 2,000 demonstrations.
