Scottie Scheffler, of course, has done it again. Thanks in part to an absolutely wild chip-in down the stretch at Caves Valley Golf Club in Maryland, Scheffler overtook Robert MacIntyre to claim the BMW Championship on Sunday afternoon.

The first round of the BMW Championship finished Thursday despite inclement weather stopping play at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills.

The BMW Championship returns to Caves Valley from Aug. 12-17, giving all involved parties a chance to build off a successful tournament in Owings Mills in 2021.

It’s also been a successful return for Maryland with an expected 7-8% boost in economic impact this go around, according to executive director of the Maryland Sports Commission Terry Hassletine. “Their wallets are a little freer because we're away from what was 2021, which was just coming out of COVID,” he said.
