Can Kansas basketball rebound with an upset win on Monday on the road against a highly-ranked Houston team? Time will tell, but it’s a tough ask.

The Kansas Jayhawks (19-10, 10-8) are in Houston tonight for a Big 12 showdown with winners of the regular season title, the Houston Cougars 25-4, 17-1). Bill Self’s squad has sputtered along since the start of February (4-5).

Though Houston has already clinched the outright Big 12 Conference regular season championship, the Cougars know they can’t rest on their laurels. Especially when there’s a No. 1 seed for the upcoming NCAA Tournament still on the table.

Sedona Prince had 16 points and 19 rebounds as 10th-ranked TCU won its first Big 12 regular-season title, holding on to beat No. 17 Baylor 51-48 on Sunday in the conference’s first winner-take-all on the final day in its 29-season history.

K-State is the 5-seed, and has received a first round bye. The Wildcats will face the winner of 12-seed BYU and 13-seed UCF on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in the second round. That game will be broadcast on ESPN+.
