Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei is calling on artificial intelligence companies to slow the development of their most powerful models, arguing that AI’s rapid progress is beginning to outpace the industry’s ability to ensure the technology remains safe.
Lawmakers worried about the existential risk posed by new artificial intelligence products demanded information from OpenAI on Thursday with separate queries that underscored growing concerns in Washington about the technology's potential to elude human control.
Acquiring Hugging Face will give the chipmaker access to a platform developers use to collaborate, test and share AI tools, potentially providing valuable insight and data that could help it narrow the technology gap with top American and Chinese labs.
