Kara Braxton, a two-time WNBA champion and former basketball player at the University of Georgia was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Atlanta.
Details are starting to be released after two-time WNBA champion Kara Braxton died suddenly over the weekend. According to TMZ, Braxton died after her 2023 Ford Mustang crashed into a concrete median wall near Atlanta on Sunday.
Now this would be fun.
The WNBA and its players union met on Feb. 23. League says deal needs to be done by March 10 to avoid season being delayed.
COBB COUNTY, Ga. - Cobb County police are investigating a fatal crash involving a former WNBA champion that happened Saturday evening on Interstate 285. According to the Cobb County Police Department’s Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP) Unit, the collision occurred around 5:13 p.m. Feb. 21 on I-285 northbound, south of Cobb Parkway.
The ongoing labor dispute between the WNBA and the WNBA players union just took another turn.
Pat Coyle has coached WNBA stars with the New York Liberty. She’s coached in multiple NCAA Tournaments. She’s won conference and national titles in college as a player for Rutgers and did the same coaching at Rutgers, St. Joseph’s (Phila.) and Loyola (Md.).
Should all go accordingly, the players will be set to receive half of the total dollar amount that qualifies for shared revenue. According to the union, that amount comes out to $8 million, which will be paid to those who were active throughout the 2025 season, while the other half is set to go toward the WNBA's marketing agreements.
