Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer said Tuesday that Democrats will not provide the support needed to pass the funding bill that House Republicans muscled through their chamber.

Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) has introduced the “Child Care Availability and Affordability Act” and the “Child Care Workforce Act,” legislation with the goal to help working families in America access affordable child care near them.

Senate Democrats say they are prepared to vote against the Republicans’ bill if lawmakers do not strike a deal by Friday night.
