Seattle has improved to 13-3 for the first time since 2013 (more on that shortly) and remain in full control of their own destiny for the No. 1 seed for homefield advantage throughout the playoffs.

Seattle (13-3) will be the top seed with a win over the 49ers next week. The Panthers, meanwhile, fell to 8-8 and will play the Buccaneers for the NFC South title next week. The Seahawks defense smothered the Panthers, limiting them to 52 plays, 139 yards and 10 first downs. Carolina was 1-for-11 on third down.
