The Los Angeles Rams announced on Friday that quarterback Matthew Stafford will be back next season following a brief flirtation with other NFL teams. Details on their new deal are not yet known, but they are secondary at this point to the reality that the Rams have their quarterback.

The Matthew Stafford trade rumors keep heating up at the Combine, yet more than one NFL Insider believes the chances of the one-time Super Bowl champion returning to the Los Angeles Rams are very high.

Although it was clear the Rams wanted him back, they did allow for Stafford and his agent, Jimmy Sexton, to meet with other teams to gauge his value. With teams like the Las Vegas Raiders and New York Giants pushing hard for Stafford, ultimately he and the Rams were able to restructure his deal as announced on Friday by ESPN's Adam Schefter.
