Philadelphia 76ers star Tyrese Maxey is doing all the heavy lifting for the team, and the front office is ready to commit to him as their franchise player.

Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey did the heavy lifting anew in their win over the Washington Wizards on Tuesday.

Through 20 games, Maxey has the third-best scoring start in team history, with 649 points. That trails Allen Iverson (681 in 2005-06) and Wilt Chamberlain (661 in 1965-66). Maxey has 20 consecutive 20-point games to start the season. Only Iverson and Joel Embiid have accomplished that. Maxey’s 13 career 35-point games put him fifth in team history.

Maxey propelled the Sixers to a last-minute victory, leading his team in points and made threes. The star point guard has been on a tear lately, pouring in 35 or more points in each of his last three matchups, racking up three total blocks and five steals over this brief stretch.
