A section of a popular Glacier National Park trail in Montana has been closed after a man was attacked by a bear.

Rangers and other hikers helped the man walk more than a mile in a mountainous area so that he could be taken to a hospital, the National Park Service said.

Glacier National Park officials announced on Thursday morning that the alpine section of Going-to-the-Sun Road was once again open tp traffic.

The famed trail is closed from Granite Park Chalet on the north to Haystack Butte on the south — a 4.9-mile stretch that also provides access to Grinnell Glacier Overlook.
