Between booze and explosives, Arizona police officers and firefighters were kept busy as America celebrated its 250th anniversary.

In Chandler, Arizona, police shot and killed a man who was armed with a shotgun over the weekend. Officers were initially called to the scene for a domestic disturbance.

A Phoenix toddler found in a backyard pool was mistakenly declared dead by a doctor, despite two police officers and at least one nurse seeing possible signs of life. Hours later, the toddler was discovered alive in the hospital morgue.
