On Thursday night, the New York Yankees beat the Colorado Rockies by a score of 10-3. They swept the three-game series. Anthony Volpe finished Thursday’s win with three hits, including a grand slam. After the game, Max Fried (who was the starting pitcher) was asked about Volpe ( via YES Network ).
The 25-year-old Volpe was recalled from the minors Thursday when second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. went on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to Wednesday, because of a sprained right thumb.
The Yankees needed just two days to go from a season-long grand slam drought to the history books. New York completed a three-game sweep of the Colorado Rockies on Thursday with a 10-3 win, one night after George Lombard Jr.
