The trailer for Galactic Racer mostly focuses on a race across Jakku, with the same graveyards of crashed Star Destroyers we see in The Force Awakens. Those shipwrecks hit the planet during the Battle of Jakku, which marks the official defeat of the Empire a year after the events of Return of the Jedi on the Star Wars timeline.

Marvel Rivals also received an update on The Game Awards stage! NetEase and Marvel officially confirmed the addition of Deadpool as a playable character, arriving as part of the game's sixth season on January 16, 2026.

The game centers on a racing scene that emerges in a transitional period of uncertainty following the collapse of the Empire. As the galaxy rebuilds, the Galactic League forms as an underground organization that funds unregulated races and pits pilots against each other in dangerous competitions.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer is the first from Fuse Games, the studio founded in 2023 by former co-founders and lead developers at Criterion, the EA-owned veteran British outfit behind some of gaming's most beloved racers, such as Burnout Paradise and Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit.
