The Royals came out swinging against Sonny Gray on Friday night and the Red Sox couldn't climb out of an early deficit as they lost their third straight game to a bad team.
"He looked really sharp," interim manager Chad Tracy said of Gray. "The layoff helped him. He looked good. Pitched deep. He was awesome."
After over 13 years in the big leagues, Sonny Gray continues to prove he's one of the most consistent pitchers in baseball.
“Got Monster’d a little bit,” Story said. “That’s baseball. Same with Sogie’s.” Sogard’s 358-foot, 98.5 mph drive to right field in the eighth with Story at second base would have been a home run in 15 of 30 parks, including Yankee Stadium, Oriole Park at Camden Yards and Toronto’s Rogers Centre. Not Fenway though.
Sonny Gray pitched seven three-hit innings for his majors-leading 17th victory to help the Boston Red Sox beat the Baltimore Orioles 5-0 on Saturday night.
