The 62-year-old, among the most recognizable voices in sports broadcasting in Northern California, announced he will step away from his daily radio show to focus on treatment for an unspecified cancer.

The longtime KNBR host shared the news Friday, saying he is stepping away from broadcasting to focus on treatment. He did not disclose the type of cancer.
