THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) — The Netherlands has banned two far-right Israeli ministers from entering the country and the European Union has proposed suspending Israel from a lucrative tech investment program as frustration mounts over worsening conditions in Gaza.

Britain said on Tuesday it would recognise a Palestinian state in September unless Israel takes steps to relieve suffering in Gaza, where starvation is spreading, and reaches a ceasefire in the nearly two-year war with Hamas.

An Israeli settler shot dead a Palestinian teacher who helped film Oscar-winning documentary No Other Land, the Palestinian education ministry and one of the film's directors said. The ministry said Odeh Hathaleen was shot during a settler attack on Umm Al-Khair village in the occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian death toll in Gaza has passed 60,000. The world’s leading authority on food crises says the “worst-case scenario of famine is currently playing out” in the territory of over 2 million people.
