Star India batter Shubman Gill completed 5,000 international runs on Wednesday. Gill reached this accomplishment during the third ODI against England at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium on Wedneday.

India secured a commanding victory over England in the third ODI, winning by a margin of 142 runs to achieve a clean sweep over the Three Lions in the series.

Gill has set another milestone by becoming the fastest player to reach 2,500 runs in ODI cricket. He achieved the feat in just 50 innings, breaking former South Africa cricketer Hashim Amla's record of reaching the mark in 53 innings.

International (ODI) vice-captain and star batter Shubman Gill created history on Wednesday at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium with his brilliant century against New Zealand in the third and final ODI of the three-match series.

He started that as early as the sixth ball he faced, though he drove Saqib Mahmood straight to mid-off. He had started the innings slowly, soaking up 10 dot balls before he creamed one through covers. He again walked down the track two balls later to Saqib, and again mid-off intervened.
